Poet, Performer

Ioanna Lioutsia is a PhD researcher at the Theatre Studies Department of the University of the Peloponnese, where she is writing her thesis on Performance Art in the Balkans and its Aesthetic and Political Dimensions (1970-2000). She holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Directing (Theatre Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 2018), a BA in Acting (Contemporary Theatre Drama School, 2017), and a BA in History & Archaeology with a specialization in the History of Art (AUTh, 2014). She has published four poetry books, the most recent being Wide Vowels and Bitten Consonants (Thraka, 2022). She is a co-founder of the street writers’ group “grafoules” and a member of the interdisciplinary festival for gender and literature “Mov Meduses”. Active as a performance artist since 2013, she was awarded third prize at the Florence Biennale 2021.
