Ioanna Skantzeli

Poet-Performer, Visual Artist, Creative Director

Ioanna Skantzeli was born in Thessaloniki.  She is a costume designer and translates poetry from English and Italian. She is an active member of the International Research Laboratory of Performing Arts Alma Kalma and a scriptwriter for the National TV art series The Black Square.

Studies: Contemporary Dance, Philosophy, and Psychoanalysis at AUTH; Translation and Editing; Theatre with a philosophical-historical-critical approach at the National Kapodistrian University; Faculty of Italian Language and Literature at AUTH.

For the past ten years, her poetry has been expressed through performance and performative installation.

PERFORMANCE POETRY PROJECT

My festive goblin

A performative installation in which the artist will create a visual imprint of her unpublished poem of the same name through speech, movement, music and materials.

The project explores the interdependent relationship between performance and installation, moment and space, body and material.
