Julien Blaine

Julien Blaine, born in 1942 in Rognac on the edge of the Étang de Berre –a once azure blue sea now an icy brown– currently resides in Marseille. Also known as Christian Poitevin (surname) and various other pseudonyms, Blaine is the founder of Doc(k)s and numerous other periodicals. His work has been exhibited widely, from “the sorcerer of V.” to the “magician of M.” and beyond. In May 2009, he held a major exhibition at the [mac] Musée d’Art Contemporain de Marseille. His final show, “A Tri”, was at the Friche de la Belle-de-Mai (Marseille). Ιn spring and summer 2020, he presented “The big dump = Good riddance!”. Blaine also organized the Tarascon International Poetry Meetings and founded the Marseille International Poetry Center (C.I.P.M.) along with various other cultural spaces and events.
