Philip Meersman

Poet-Performer

Philip Meersman is multilingual poet & doctoral student at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. His work shifts the boundaries of written & spoken poetry, often reflecting on current events, socio-political issues and environmental concerns. Meersman performs worldwide, conducts workshops on experimental, visual, and performance poetry and creates immersive, XR, interactive, experimental and climate-focused poetry installation performances. He curates the Brussels Planetarium Poetry Fest and Transpoesie and is the founder and chair of Ivzw World Poetry Slam Organization Aisbl, a global network of national slam competitions. Additionally, he coordinates the European & World Championships Poetry Slam, promoting inclusivity in the arts.
