The Poetry Slam for Peace is a non-competitive event that brings together poet-artists from around the world to advocate for peace through diverse artistic expressions. It began in 2016 at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in New York and has been held online for the past four years. In 2024, the event organizers decided to expand its reach to local communities globally. The 2023 event, which was broadcast on the International Day of Peace, featured 12 poets from 7 countries, with a special focus on Indigenous poets, highlighting themes of love, unity, and the essence of life. The performances conveyed powerful messages about communication and diversity. 

The Poetry Slam for Peace emphasizes the important role of creative communities, particularly Slam Poets and Spoken Word Artists, in delivering messages of peace that transcend cultural boundaries. In collaboration with organizations such as Youth Speaks and Pathways to Peace, it aims to amplify marginalized voices and promote community engagement through creative expression.
